Rasa Jarmalienė (Rasaja), born in 1981, specializes in portraiture, beauty and fashion photography, keen to discover new way to representing identities through photography.

22 years old she began to work as a photographer, doing personal photoshoots. In progress, she was deeply impressed by advertising and beauty photograph in the world of fashion and had an ambitious to express herself in the field of commercial beauty photography.

In 2003 she moved to London and had a chance to take part as an assistant in a field of commercial and portrait photography. After relocating again to Kaunas, Lithuania, in 2009, she began to fine-tune her technique, experimenting with shadow and light—color and form—to create highly polished images that are the mark of her work today.

By retouching photos by herself and inspired by some great artists she met on her way, Rasa established her own style of photography. She is known with her unique style and techniques to express strong and luxury but simple and well controlled photograph.

Constantly inspired by faces and great personalities, influenced by fashion magazines and great modern photographers, Rasa took the logical step of entering the portrait photography. Following this great experience and always on the look out to expand her portfolio, she began shooting celebrities, artists, and designers for editorials. Her photography art helps her making social commentary about portrayal of women. In particular, Rasa’s personal and self portrait projects reveal her continued desire to use her unique perspective to change women’s role in modern world.

But still, she is particularly known for her women beauty imagery. In her most recent work, Rasa connects her profession with her passion – fairy tale style and perfect fantasy world.
